Set in a world where global warming is more than just a theory, HALF-LIFE tells the story of the Wu family, a suburban family reaching the breaking point. The Wu family - Saura (Julia Nickson), older sister Pam (Sanoe Lake), and eight-year-old Timothy (Alexander Agate) - have their lives shaken up by the arrival of Wendell (Ben Redgrave), an outwardly pleasant young man who has entered into a relationship with Saura. The directionless Pam responds to the problems at home by seeking solace in the company of a young gay man Scott (Leonardo Nam), whose religious parents remain in complete denial of their son’s open sexuality. In the meantime, young Timothy becomes aware of the supernatural powers he possesses. As the natural disasters escalate and the air quality deteriorates, the tension within the family continues to boil until it reaches the story reaches its surreal conclusion.

Deftly blending CG animation with live action, HALF-LIFE is a bold and original debut feature film from director Jennifer Phang. A selection at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, HALF-LIFE stamps Phang as an aggressive filmmaker wiling to take risks and definitely an independent director to watch.

"HALF-LIFE marks the debut of a promising, truly independent film artist"
