Ah-mi (Kim Min-hee) is a struggling 29-year-old screenwriter who one day catches her boyfriend, Won-suk, a musician in an unsuccessful rock band, cheating on her. To drown her sorrows, Ah-mi begins to drink heavily and recklessly until she meets a kindhearted young accountant. Despite her desire for independence, Ah-mi lives with her older sister, Young-mi (Lee Mi-sook), and Young-mi’s teenaged daughter, Kang-ae (An So-hee). Young-mi, an attractive and successful 41-year-old interior designer, has just entered into an affair with a young actor, but must also deal with a piece of unwelcome news from her doctor. Kang-ae is busy getting love advice from an exotic female friend as she tries to gain attention from her apathetic boyfriend.

Based on the comic book series “10, 20 and 30″ and directed by Kwon Chil-in (SINGLES), HELLCATS is a sweet, sexy and smart romantic comedy that takes a realistic view of the modern Korean single woman. Terrifically acted and confidently directed, this is a film that transcends the “chick flick” genre to create an intelligent and entertaining film that will appeal to all audiences.
