San Diego Asian Film Festival 2008

A very small boy is forced to take care of his mother when she falls into a schizophrenic state. He's forced to save the bedroom walls from her wayward calligraphy and chase after her when she disappears from the house.

In the meantime, he himself imagines that she is the Moon lady, the legendary woman who floated up to the moon after drinking an elixir of immortality.

Missing his mother's touch, the boy stumbles upon a puppet show in the market. After stealing some firecrackers backstage, the boy decides to use his newfound ammunition to launch a device and make contact with the spirit of the Moon Lady.
