San Diego Asian Film Festival 2008

Based on a true story, MY FATHER traces the journey of a Korean American adoptee to South Korea in search of his biological parents. Though raised by a loving family in America, James Parker (played by Daniel Henney) has always dreamed of meeting his birth parents. While serving in the U.S. military in Korea, he befriends a Korean soldier to help him track down his old orphanage where he learned his birth name was “Gong Eun Cheol."

While holding a large baby photo of himself, Parker goes on national Korean television pleading for information about his birth parents. Soon after, a priest comes forward claiming to know Parker’s father and arranges a high-profile reunion… in prison. His father – played by veteran actor Young-cheol Kim - is a convicted killer on death row. The two men find an undeniable father-and-son bond that transcends the walls of prison and any language barrier.
