An eight-year-old girl, Li Tong, loses her bus pass one day after school. Penniless, she decides to walk home. On her way, she encounters a warm-hearted old lady who tries to help her, a security guard in front of a bar, a trendy young woman, a man wearing a panda costume, and even a little thief attempting to steal a pet dog from an old man.
After getting a ride to the wrong address, Li Tong's journey becomes more complicated as she soon finds herself hopelessly lost. Only the son of a migrant worker who begs in the city offers her a helping hand. The two of them become unlikely companions, each learning a bit about the world of the other as the little beggar helps Li Tong on her quest home.
Combining a touching childhood tale with slice-of-life scenes from one day in Beijing, LI TONG tells the story of the eponymous girl's journey home through the realities of a city and country in transition. Free screening made possible by Target. |

cute story. One scene might not be good for kids to see though.
